1. ASTM A513 Tubing Type 1 A.W.H.R. (As-Welded Hot-Rolled):
- This tubing is manufactured by resistance welding after hot rolling.
- It is suitable for general mechanical manufacturing and structural applications.
- Tolerances include ±0.020" to ±0.035" OD, ±10% of nominal wall thickness for WT, ±3/16 inch length tolerance, and a maximum ovality tolerance of 0.010 times the OD.
2. ASTM A513 Tubing Type 2 A.W.C.R. (As-Welded Cold-Rolled):
- This tubing is manufactured by resistance welding after cold rolling.
- It offers higher surface quality and narrower dimensional tolerances compared to Type 1.
- Tolerances include ±0.020" to ±0.035" OD, ±10% of nominal wall thickness for WT, ±3/16 inch length tolerance, and a maximum ovality tolerance of 0.010 times the OD.
3. ASTM A513 Tubing Type 3 S.D.H.R. (Sink-Drawn Hot-Rolled):
- This tubing is manufactured by sink drawing after hot rolling.
- It provides higher strength and good surface quality.
- Tolerances include ±0.015" to ±0.030" OD, ±10% of nominal wall thickness for WT, ±1/8 inch length tolerance, and a maximum ovality tolerance of 0.010 times the OD.
4. Type 4 S.D.C.R. (Sink-Drawn Cold-Rolled):
- This tubing is manufactured by sink drawing after cold rolling.
- It offers higher dimensional accuracy and better surface quality compared to Type 3.
- Tolerances include ±0.015" to ±0.030" OD, ±10% of nominal wall thickness for WT, ±1/8 inch length tolerance, and a maximum ovality tolerance of 0.010 times the OD.
5. ASTM A513 Tubing Type 5 DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel):
- This tubing is manufactured by drawing over a mandrel.
- It provides higher dimensional accuracy and smoother surface finish.
- Tolerances include ±0.015" to ±0.030" OD, ±10% of nominal wall thickness for WT, ±1/8 inch length tolerance, and a maximum ovality tolerance of 0.010 times the OD.
6. ASTM A513 Tubing Type 6 S.S.I.D. (Special Smooth Inside Diameter):
- This tubing features a special smooth inside diameter surface.
- It is typically used in applications requiring precise inside diameter and smooth surface finish.
- Tolerances include ±0.015" to ±0.030" OD, ±10% of nominal wall thickness for WT, ±1/8 inch length tolerance, and a maximum ovality tolerance of 0.010 times the OD.
